This Privacy Policy describes how VocaTune (the "Service"), operated by its creator, collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our web application, VST plugin, or any related software. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described below.

We collect only what is necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service:

• Account information — email address, display name, and authentication credentials when you create an account.
• Uploaded audio — the vocal files, takes, and project metadata you submit to be processed by the Service.
• Usage data — device type, browser, operating system, IP address, pages visited, features used, and interaction events, used for analytics and security.
• Technical logs — error reports, performance metrics, and stability data to keep the Service reliable.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16, and we do not sell your personal information.

Your data is used solely to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Process your audio uploads and return the resulting tuned files to you.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
• Train, evaluate, and improve our internal AI models only when you explicitly opt in to contribute samples. By default, your audio is never used for training.
• Communicate with you regarding service updates, security, and support.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

When you upload a vocal file, it is transmitted over an encrypted connection (TLS) and processed by our AI engine. After processing:

• The processed result is made available for download or playback within your account.
• Original uploads and processed outputs are stored only for as long as needed to deliver the Service to you.
• Files are stored in secure, access-controlled cloud storage with row-level security policies that restrict access to your account only.
• We do not share your audio with third parties, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it for AI training unless you explicitly opt in.

You remain the sole owner of all audio you upload. By uploading, you also warrant that you have the right to do so — see Section 04 of our Terms of Use.

We retain personal data for the period required to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Specifically:

• Uploaded & processed audio — kept while your account is active and you have not deleted the file. Deleted files are removed from active storage immediately and from backups within 30 days.
• Account data — kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where retention is required by law.
• Logs & analytics — retained for up to 12 months in identifiable form, then aggregated or deleted.

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. You may:

• Delete individual audio files from within the Service.
• Request a full export of your data or permanent deletion of your account by contacting us through our official channels.
• Withdraw consent for optional processing (such as analytics or model training contributions) at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

Verified deletion requests are completed within 30 days from active systems and within an additional 30 days from backups.

We apply industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access-controlled storage, row-level security policies, audit logging, and the principle of least privilege. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, storage, analytics, error monitoring) that are contractually bound to process data solely on our behalf, or when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Service.

Your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
